Meet Amy Brown: Our New Young Ambassador at OCC!
We are thrilled to introduce Amy Brown, who has joined our OCC family as part of the Bee1 team, focusing on youth engagement. Amy's journey and achievements speak volumes about her dedication, passion, and commitment to making a significant impact on our world.
About Amy
"My name is Amy Brown and I work as part of the Bee1 team focusing on youth engagement, acting as the young ambassador for the company. I graduated from the University of Exeter in the summer of 2024 with first class honours in Sustainability, Politics, and English. Prior to university, I gained a scholarship to attend UWC Atlantic College, a school that has the mission of equipping students to face the challenges of tomorrow for peace and a sustainable future. My educational background has provided me with the knowledge and passion to work in accordance with the values of sustainability, collaboration, and conservation. My personal values of open-mindedness, desire to make a change, and community, combined with my passion for young people and the climate, drive me to work as part of a collective that seeks to create a world that meets the needs of our future generations."
Amy’s keen interest in sustainability and political action has been a driving force throughout her life. Her experiences with the Neath Port Talbot Youth Council and as the Member of Youth Parliament for her constituency have honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the need for a sustainable green economy. Her time in the House of Commons, debating key political issues, including environmental sustainability, showcases her dedication to making a real difference.
In addition to her political involvement, Amy has volunteered extensively in the Children’s Rights sector. She has been a passionate advocate for promoting and protecting children’s rights in health and ensuring young people are represented in decision-making processes. Amy’s commitment to giving young people a voice and making positive changes is truly inspiring.
Passion for Environmental Justice
Amy’s drive for environmental justice extends beyond her community, with a strong desire to make a global impact. Joining the Bee1 and OCC team, she aims to bring a young person’s perspective on climate and environmental issues, leveraging her skills as a graduate to address these challenges head-on.
Looking Ahead
We are confident that Amy’s innovative approach, combined with her passion and dedication, will significantly enhance our efforts towards sustainability and youth engagement. Her presence in our team aligns perfectly with our mission at OCC, and we are excited about the new perspectives and energy she brings.
Please join us in welcoming Amy Brown to our OCC family. We look forward to achieving great things together!
